What is a Graphic Novel? A Graphic Novel (GN), by definition, is a stand-alone story told through illustrations or comics and published as a book. For example, Sojourn, Peach Girl, Tale of One Big Rat, etc. Some graphic novels are compilations of Special and/or Annual collections of serial comic books: Archie, Calvin & Hobbes, The Far Side, The Simpsons, etc. The J. V. Fletcher Library shelves most Graphic Novels together in the Young Adult Department. The Children's Room houses Garfield, Tin Tin, Peanuts and Pokemon in the Juvenile Series section.
